AN EXPERIMENT ON A BIRD IN THE AIR PUMP
(http://www.myspace.com/anexperimentonabirdintheairpump)

An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump were one of several bands that came out of the informal collective of left-field creatives, post-post-punks, and new wave art-heads that were hanging around clubs, gigs and art events, mostly in East London, around 2007- 2008.

They are not indie, they are not punk: they nestle somewhere in the middle. A wonderfully dark place, with Lydia Lunch, Richard Kern, and Kenneth Anger as neighbors. With their distorted bass, intense reverb, gut-wrenching vocals and short songs, these three girls manage to capture the essence of many of the 80's goth bands, whilst thoroughly making it their own.

They are one of the most hypnotic bands you will ever see: you literally cannot tear your eyes away. Smouldering, insanely hot, and just so effortlessly cool, the Experiment girls OWN the stage. All multi-instrumentalists, their set is fluid, with each girl taking turns on bass, vocals and drums.

PROJECT:KOMAKINO
(http://www.myspace.com/projectkomakino)

Founded by musical visionary Kris Kane, PROJECT:KOMAKINO's world is much darker and more synth led than Le Tetsuo, but just as exciting. The four-piece band have taken elements of new wave, rock and electronica and created some of the most stirring and haunting music around. If you close your eyes and listen to tracks like 'Nebula' you could almost be forgiven for thinking you were listening to vintage Bowie. Yes, they are that good.

Deep Below
(http://www.myspace.com/thedeepbelow)

Looming bass, new wave flourishes, busy guitar and an ear for a mighty chorus, it’s not hard to hear why we love The Deep Below. From the bowels of Myspace, this punchy band of Londoners didn’t just entice us, they positively demanded our attention. 'This Great City' impressively soars with dark intent and The Deep Below show they are more than capable of shifting through synth addled numbers, snotty electro stompers, and gnashing krautrock monsters. Guided by Steph Horak’s power vocal and riot girl attitude. Definitely ones to watch!!!
