Pool is the opening track off of Samia’s debut studio album The Baby. According to Samia, the song is about her experience hiding away at a stranger’s house in Texas, staring at the moon from the pool realizing this feeling won’t last forever and trying to find beauty from fear. The intro to the track features a voice message from Samia’s grandmother, who passed away prior to the release of the album, singing to her in Arabic. The song was covered by Bartees Strange for Samia’s 2021 release The Baby Reimagined.
