Description

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic will be performing their legendary three-hour P-Funk Feast, to leave funk fans drooling!

One of the most important innovators of funk music alongside James Brown, Sly Stone and the Funky Meters, legendary George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic bring their P-Funk Feast to town!! George Clinton is one of the most sampled musicians on the planet (or off it !!!) and has worked alongside Primal Scream, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dogg and so many others as collaborator or producer…

Known globally for his outlandish costume and his multi-coloured dreadlocks as well as his mastery of intergalactic funk – this gathering of The P-Funk Collective will be looking to “Tear The Roof Off The Sucker” with their ‘awe-funk-some’ groove as they for sure turn Australia’s youth into “Maggot Brains”.

This band will, quite simply, take you on the ride of your life live in concert. The news that 26 of the Parliament Funkadelic madmen will be performing their legendary three-hour show will be enough to leave funk fans drooling!

George Clinton has been releasing albums steadily since 1967 under his own name as well as both that of Parliament and Funkadelic. His stable of hits includes “Atomic Dog”, “One Nation Under a Groove”, “We Want the Funk” and “Mothership Connection”. – And his collective was finally recognized when 16 of the P-Funk Collective (the largest group ever) were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

In addition to the classic songs, Clinton continues to release new material, including “Toys” with Funkadelic in 2008 and the cover album “George Clinton and His Gangers of Love” in 2006, including his take on songs like “Ain’t That Peculiar”, “Never Gonna Give You Up” and “Gypsy Woman”.
Clinton and his band still tour 200 days a year and show no signs of slowing down yet, something he attributes to the music: “Funk. It’s like musical Viagra. It keeps you ready to go. It gives you energy.”

In the words of their immortal song “We Like To Funk” make way for one of the planet’s greatest live music shows.

Don’t miss this “Mothership Connection”!
