Michael Chapman is known as one of the UK’s best finger picking style guitar players. As part of a continuing musical lineage that includes the likes of Ralph McTell, John Martyn, Davey Graham & Bert Jansch. Playing a blend of atmospheric and autobiographical material he established a reputation for intensity and innovation. He signed to EMI's Harvest label in 1969 and recorded a trio of classic albums, 'Rainmaker’, Fully Qualified Survivor', and 'Wrecked Again’, which have all recently been reissued by cult USA label Light in The Attic. Michael's most recent album '50' embraced past and present, with guest artists including celebrated British folksinger Bridget St. John and gifted indie rock guitarist Steve Gunn, received 5 star reviews from The Guardian, Uncut, The Wire, and album of the month in MOJO.
