Description

LOVVERS:
Based nowhere and residing pretty much everywhere, Lovvers is compromised of four ambitious nobodies. Lovvers are a strange mix of music’s forgotten blank generation,
re-calling the spirit of Darby Crash’s Germs, the weirdness of Flipper, Wipers-style pop and the careless attitude of The Replacements. After the release of four noisy 7inchs the band have now found a home at Wichita recordings.

Having playing nearly 200 shows up and down the UK the band have shared bills with the likes of Butthole Surfers, No Age, Times New Viking, Jay Reatard, Awesome Color, Mika Miko, Fucked Up and Black Lips.

BATS:
Four out of five BATS hail from Ireland’s alpha-smoke, Dublin, while the other crawled his way on bloody knuckles out of the haunted town of Carbury, Kildare. Since early 2007 BATS have brought down a firestorm of wild riffs and delirious rhythms around the island, playing support to such acts as Gang Gang Dance, The Locust and Liars. Last year’s Debut EP entitled ‘Cruel Sea Scientist’ may have been accused of frightening children but the possibility of real damage comes when BATS take to the stage.

BOP YESTRUM:
Bop Yestrum arrived in 2006 in an effort to provide something truly different for Belfast’s clubbing public. Something inclusive, participative, and a little ridiculous. A party where a wide-ranging playlist (incorporating post-punk, disco, psych, dub, krautrock, no/new wave, afrobeat, funk and rock ‘n’ roll) meets with visuals, communal percussion and, most importantly - dancefloor abandon.

In addition to their Laverys residencies, Bop Yestrum DJs have curated events as part of the Belfast Film and Visonic Festivals, hosted live shows and recently performed at Electric Picnic 2008, alongside David Holmes, Andy Votel and Richard Fearless.

NOT SQUARES:
Formed in January 2008 from members of Gaju, Julip, The Killing Spree and Tracer amc; Not Squares draw upon their combined record collections and previous experience to create something fresh and original.

Whilst their music has tangible reference points, their continual refining of ideas progresses them further than any one ‘style’. Despite this band’s youth, their reputation for incendiary live shows already precedes them.
