Purity Ring - Asido

It's been five years since Purity Ring released their debut album Shrines. And in honor of that anniversary the band shared a new song as a "standalone gift" to fans, while they work on their next album. "Asido" features the sparkling synths and throbbing bass that have come to define the electro-pop group's trademark sound. In other words, it's got enough ethereal beauty to hold you over until their next full-length project drops.

Alvvays
- Dream Tonite

The Canadian quartet `excel at crafting painfully romantic music. Nowhere is this more evident than on the band's second single from their upcoming sophomore album Antisocialites. "Dream Tonite" is exactly as its title suggests, a dreamy bit of melancholy. And I'll be damned "If I saw you on the street/ would I have you in my dreams tonight?" is the best line Morrissey never wrote.

Wolf Parade
- Valley Boy

After reuniting and releasing an EP last year following a five year hiatus Wolf Parade are gearing up to drop their first full-length album in nearly seven years. "Valley Boy" is the first taste of that record. Written shortly after Leonard Cohen's death and the 2016 election, the track captures the nervous energy of the times. It's no wonder it's become a live favorite.

Kesha - Woman

This song may have been released two weeks ago, but it's still having a big impact. In fact, everything about this song is big and deservedly so. After years of painful litgation against former producer and alleged harasser Dr. Luke, Kesha declares her independence in a bold and brassy way. The legendary Dap-Kings bolster her every word in this ode to self-sufficiency.

Tyler the Creator
- 911 / Mr. Lonely

"911 / Mr. Lonely" finds Tyler the Creator reconnecting with Frank Ocean, whom he previously collaborated with back in April on "Biking." The pairing makes sense as the rapper accesses his more sensitive side. "I am the loneliest man alive, but I keep on dancing to throw them off," he states. It's a clever, frenetic and occasionally poignant bit of hip-hop.

Mister Heavenly - Beat Down

We never knew if we'd hear more from this indie rock supergroup, who released their one and only album back in 2011. But luckily they found time in their busy schedules to make more music. Consisting of Nick Diamonds (of The Unicorns/Islands), Honus Honus (of Man Man) and Joe Plummer (drummer for Modest Mouse), the band's sound is more than the sum of its parts. "Beat Down" is their newest track and it's bouncy energy proves that this is one of the most fun musical side projects around.

Ty Dolla $ign
- Love U Better (feat. Lil Wayne & The-Dream)

The latest single from Ty Dolla Sign is a fun and racy jam. The DJ Mustard produced track is the first look at Ty's highly anticipated sophomore album Beach House 3.

Waxahatchee - Recite Remorse

With Out in the Storm, singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield released one of the best album of the summer. Standout "Recite Remorse" is its earnest and introspective centerpiece. The droning organ steadily builds to a dreamy and poignant effect makes her pointed words all the more powerful.
