He is currently in the band South Club and the CEO of the agency the band's under, South Buyers Club. Nam was first introduced to the public through Mnet's reality-survival program "YG WIN: WHO IS NEXT" as part of Team A. After winning, he debuted as a part of WINNER on August 12, 2014 with the album "2014 S/S", in which he was only one of two members to sing a solo track: 고백하는 거야.
