even though i buy anjunabeats yearbook i believe they are too mainstream for my taste cos the sound is sooo generic/commerical af sounding (esp A&B). they actually kinda sound SHIT most of the time, but it is a nice background wallpaper to listen to if you are cleaning your house or exercising. They DO however have some gems on their yearbook compilation, but not much.

they remind me of the spain (without the s) that is Steve Aoki and some other bullshit mainstream EDM that is out there...look, i get it they need to make money...but this self-assigned--enforcement of production to earn $$$ cos of being a business is ruining creativity when u have to force yourself to fish ideas for anything art (ESP MUSIC!!)....you just get....tasteless fast-mass-produced-shit like this? there are some songs that are good though, but....meh

It is called negative feedback or Constructive Criticism, and it focuses more on building a person up instead of bringing them down. Back in the days A&B was pioneers on trance and progressive music, but now they need Andrew Bayer's co-production for almost all his tracks.

yeah sorry i might have come across a bit too extreme, but their older stuff is srs good...it is just sad that when artists focus on commercial stuff or for the "next big event" instead of making a good song based on a cool narrative etc.. In the future people will look at a creative work if it is actually technically good and has some interesting narrative etc.. Even if there was a commercial reason behind it.. I don't have anything against "commercialism" per-say, but when i use that word to describe their current music it just means to me that they are trying to sell to a crowd instead of pushing things a certain way based on their own ideas etc. Kinda hard to explain, but hopefully you get my point. but that is just my opinion and taste ofcourse.

Flow State really grew up at me. I would really enjoy this material in a live act.

You said it, they're very far from what they were back in the day. They're no different than Martin Garrix or Steve Aoki now. No, calling them trash is completely fine, its subjective. Yes, there are worse bands than them, but that doesn't mean everyone can just accept whatever A&B have become just because we want to stay loyal to them. I'm happy to be a negative individual if it means weeding out horrendous music from the good. Listening to A&B now is just holding onto them. Trance has been dead for almost a decade now, I've let go of it. But its fine if people want to listen to them, just don't listen to them thinking they're trance.

These guys have been on a steep downhill for years, their stuff is now impossible to listen to. Too sad, they used to be nice.

They died long time ago. But their phantoms are still producing, awful stuff but hey the post-EDM masses love it.

This might be an unpopular opinion and I am NOT saying I dislike him but here goes: any other Above & Beyond vocalist > Alex Vargas. Now yes his voice is great, the songs he's on are good but I somehow feel like he's made much less of an impression or impact than the other vocalists? Maybe it's just me.
