At a junior-high school festival, Yuusuke, Shouhei and Horinouchi performed as a cover band for Oasis. Shiori was only a spectator at that time. They performed again in Yuusuke’s third year of high school, in 2002, this time adding Shiori to the line up. In 2002 they formed the band Base Ball Bear. They released their first record, "Yuugata Generation", in November of 2003 on the independent label Blitz-Pia. They released the Album "Band B ni tsuite" as a limited pressing and distributed it in live houses and on their label. They re-released it as their major label debut CD(5,000 copies) on Toshiba Emi, with an added track, "Labyrinth e no timing". Since signing with Toshiba Emi they have released the mini-album "Girl Friend" and the single "Electric Summer" and are gaining quite a fan base as they get the word out on their music.
Their bassist, Shiori, was also one of the lead role’s in the movie "Linda Linda Linda", a drama film about a group of girl’s who want to form a band for their school festival. Base Ball Bear also contributed their music to the film’s soundtrack.
The song "Changes" was used as the ending theme for the anime Toshokan Sensou (Library Wars)
