    Venezia, Venezia, Veneto, Italy

Paolo Martini and Gianni Bini (try saying that with a mouth full of spaghetti) are two of the topmost Italian DJs who joined forces last year to create Ocean Traxx Records, purveyors of some of the finest European House tunes around. But before recording under the monikers House of Glass and Bini & Martini, they were both successful DJ's in their own right. Cue wobbly flashback screen

Gianni Bini started off in the late eighties, spinning the decks all over Italy, before turning his hand, in 1990, to recording. He chanced across another likeminded fellow in the shape of Fulvio Perniola and the Fathers of Sound were created. After grabbing the Italian dance scene by the horns, Fathers of Sound attracted the attention of such UK luminaries as Sasha, John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Pete Tong and Danny Rampling and thus, the entry into the UK and worldwide scene was complete.

Paolo Martini apparently had a taste for all things beats from an early age. He bought his first single at the age of thirteen - the classic 'Sound Of Philadelphia' by MF.S.B. A role model for all Italian DJs, Paolo began servin' up the tunes in the early eighties, but it was a chance meeting with DJ Alfredo in 1988 that really turned the tide for Paolo. Alfredo was then resident at Amnesia in Ibiza and responsible for bringing the first batch of house music over to Italy. Paolo embraced the genre and has never looked back, paving the way for other aspiring DJs willing to follow in his footsteps. In recognition of his achievements, Diesel Jeans chose him to promote their wares and Radio Italia invited him to start up a weekly dance programme 'Mastermix'.

Fast forward to 2000 and to what's in store for the two of them. The first House of Glass single 'Take Me Over' was released to worldwide acclaim, followed smartly by a Bini & Martini release 'Dancing With You'. With the new House of Glass tune 'Playin' With My Mind' ripe for release any time now, the future is looking bellissima in the Italian orchard.
