Cheval de Frise were a French math-rock duo consisting of hollow-body guitarist Thomas Bonvalet and drummer Vincent Beysselance. Formed in 1998 and based in Bordeaux, their unnerving and angular compositions were often compared to the works of contemporaries Gastr Del Sol, Don Caballero, and occasionally even Orthrelm - a testament to the band's innovative spirit. They split right after their US tour of La Lame du Mat in 2004.
