Medusa is the second studio album by Dutch darkwave band Clan of Xymox. It was released in November 1986 by 4AD. Founding member Pieter Nooten would re-record the songs "After the Call" and "Theme I" on his 1987 debut solo album Sleeps with the Fishes, following a brief split from the band. Clan of Xymox (also known as Xymox) blend an eclectic and vibrant mix of darkwave, synthpop, and gothic rock. From the Netherlands, Xymox was established in 1982 in Nijmegen by frontman Ronny Moorings and then live-in Anke Wolbert. Their first EP, "Subsequent Pleasures" added Pieter Nooten afterwards on keyboards and left a mark on an emerging Euro-wave market.
