Cookies and Cream was a greatly loved but short-lived band started by college students at the American University of Beirut. Their style was an interesting fusion of funk & jazz which had the inevitable influences of Herbie Hancock, Average White Band, and others. The band members were Sami Shatila (Tenor Sax), Ashraf El Droubi (Keyboards), Rani Kamel (Electric Guitar), Jeffrey Ayache (Electric Bass), and Moneer Moukaddem (Drums). Their only recording is a live concert named "Leap", some of which will be available for free download soon.
