Wow cool seeing Rowland smile in the Rose Blue video - none of the band feel very into it though... boring studio version Haha

Great come back indeed, love it that David Eugene Edwards is part of the band now. If you get the chance to see them, do it!

http://soundcloud.com/crime-4/the-thief I think this is from the new album. No vocals. Sounds great, though. Not sure how "Crime"y it sounds, but it sounds great.

So the way the pledge thing is going is kind of disheartening. Maybe I'm expecting too much or something. But for the way it's stagnated, I'm getting a vision of the goal not being reached. . .what happens then? Blah. I just need to express this displeasure somewhere and "on the Facebook comments about pledging" does not seem a very morale-boosting place to do it, haha. I guess I'm comparing it to when Michael Gira was trying to raise money for Swans stuff and it's like he couldn't take their money fast enough--but they'd gained a lot of popularity with certain groups of people, and Crime hasn't. Maybe they have to find more low-cost items to sell? Like, the equivalent of $5-$15.

Good News!! Dear friends, please take note that Crime & the City Solution, the legendary band Alexander Hacke played in from 1986-1992 have reformed and in April they will record a new album for Mute Records in Detroit. ... With Alexander, Simon Bonney and Bronwyn Adams of the original line-up will be part of the current incarnation, as well as David Eugene Edwards (Woven Hand, 16 Horsepower), Jim White (The Dirty Three, Cat Power), Troy Gregory (Prong), the keyboarder Matthew Smith and Danielle de Picciotto as visual artist. Greetings (H)

This is way late, but I don't think he sounds so much like Nick Cave as they both sound a bit Jim Morrisonish, maybe. I'm somewhat comforted to learn that I am not a top listener, exactly, because lately it feels like I listen to nothing but Crime. Am I the only person that's worried a new Crime, with post-Jesus Is Awesome Simon and David Eugene Edwards might have loads of Jesusy songs? I mean maybe this doesn't worry people. Or maybe it's irrational to think it will. But the Jesusy bits of Simon's solo work ruin it for me, so. . .argh. I'm such a heathen.

Just saw these guys in Wings of Desire, thought they were Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds until they played in another scene. Yeah, they're similar but I guess they've got their roots in the Birthday Party, so...

From Simon on Facebook: "Crime will be recording in Detroit in the Spring for a Fall release. The band members are Alex, Bronwyn and myself from the Berlin Crime plus colorful musical Identities Jim, Troy and Matthew. "

Not really. . .Simon's a better singer, in my opinion (as in, his voice is technically "nicer", whether that = "better" is subjective, I guess).

Just watched "Der Himmel über Berlin" for the umpteen'th time. The live sequences with Crime & the City Solution and Nick Cave are just phonemenal. "Room Of Lights" is one of my top-10 albums ever. Actually bought it at a Crime concert in Stockholm, in the mid 80's.

Okay, so i'm trying to establish the family tree here... Birthday Party > Crime & The City Solution > These Immortal Souls > Rowland S. Howard {For some reason, the phrase "Nick Cave related" cracks me up.} Is this correct? Favorite discography/website/anything/?
