On the second single from Quaranta, the spiritual successor to Danny’s sophomore LP “XXX,” Danny playfully examines and critiques the common practice of rich white people “improving” a poor area and in turn forcing out the low-income, non-white population. The title, “Jenn’s Terrific Vacation,” serves as a euphemism for “gentrification.” These ideas are continued through the accompanying music video. As Danny raps, an old woman — possibly a relative — sits next to him as pieces of the set are slowly taken away by white hands, acting as a visual metaphor for gentrification.
