May's contribution to the Mix-Up series (which also included sets by Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills and Ken Ishii) isn't quite as frenetic as Mills' own, but he packs quite a few records into his set and plays around with just about every one, including May regulars like Lil' Louis' "French Kiss," Phuture's "Spank Spank" and "Dance" by Pal Joey. Since May was much more of a DJ than a producer during the 1990s, Mayday Mix is quite an important document of his intense sessions.
