Drake first shared a snippet of the song via Instagram stories on Sunday, March 26, 2023, and later premiered the full song on Sound 42 on Friday, March 31, 2023. On the following Thursday, April 6, 2023, Drake announced the song’s official release date (midnight ET on Friday, April 7, 2023) along with the cover art: A superimposed image of Drake cozying up with his mentor-turned-rival Kanye West's ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, whilst sporting black helmets. Notably, the song samples an interview by Kardashian discussing her divorce from West.
