The Dawn Shadforth directed music video finds Sandé taking care of a sick friend in hospital, who appears to have had chemo treatment. The My Kind of Love Songfacts explains that the inspiration for the visual came from Sandé's time as a medical student in Glasgow. Emeli Sandé first became known to the public after she featured on rapper Chipmunk's third single “Diamond Rings”. “My Kind Of Love” was released in June 2012 and follows on from previous hits “Heaven” and “Next To Me”, all of which feature on her debut album “Our Version Of Events”.
