Harri Vuori (b. 1957) hails from Lahti in southern Finland, a town once best known for producing furniture but since made famous by the activities of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra under the pioneering baton of Osmo Vänskä and their long series of recordings – especially of Sibelius – on the Swedish label BIS.
