I hope Iommi join with Halford and continue with this band. The lord of riffs is thinking about a new album with only riffs or some guests... he even called Rob to do something (justifying that such effort is easier to think and elaborate due to technology in pandemic)

I like both, but have to go with 13 over it. Song writing is much more Sabbathy and the drumming is 5X better.

If you're a Last.fm Pro user you can edit it yourself to make it Black Sabbath.

You can just scrobble it as Black Sabbath or edit your scrobbles, as Mixtapes said. Someone even altered the cover for it: https://www.last.fm/music/Black+Sabbath/The+Devil+You+Know

Better than 13 [2] Heavy as FUCK. Imperfect but soulful finish for Ronnie. And not Rubined to death.

I remember seeing them on the 2009 tour @ Hellfest. They were all amazing and RJD's performance was incredible. Hard to believe he has already been diagnosed with cancer because he was so generous on stage.

Actually you're right, he hasn't been diagnosed yet. Anyway, I was shocked to learn about his death only 10 months later.

"I think Dio era Sabbath is vastly superior to Ozzy era Sabbath" I won't need people like you in my life for sure.

This might end up being the last great Black Sabbath album. Because Black Sabbath exists wherever Iommi is playing metal.

Gods fuck cunt and piss, "The Devil you know" was the best Sabbath album since fuck and it's such a crying shame that gods like Dio have to go so soon. "13" wasn't bad, but if Ronnie had lived then Heaven & Hell would have fucking bulldozed over it so hard that sober Ozzy would have felt his arsehole tingling back in '69.

I think Dio-Sabbath/Heaven & Hell did a better comeback album than Ozzy-Sabbath did with 13 (although I like it). I think "The Devil You Know" is a great album, very good stuff!

You never know, it could be like with Jimi Hendrix and 2pac who got one septillion post-mortem albums released.

This was such a great thing... we were so lucky to get this project from the last years of Dio's life. I like how they only played Dio's Sabbath songs (from H&H, Mob Rules and Dehumanizer) before they made The Devil You Know. It's great how Dehumanizer was well featured in their setlists, which gave that album some fresh attention. It really is overlooked. I think that Heaven & Hell was the best thing that could have happened at the time to Dio and the Sabbath members. On and on, Heaven and Hell!

I suppose there's essentially no difference, apart from a full original album. But, officially, NOT the same band. This was sort of a reunion of that lineup, a revival if you will, playing that old material under another name (disconnected from Ozzy) as well as making new stuff -- which, sadly, only amounted to that one record before Dio passed away. Neon Nights: 30 Years of Heaven & Hell was a live album comprised of the stuff they made & played together as Black Sabbath, which I guess is why you'll find those Sabbath songs in this tracklist. Whatever the case, to sum up: Heaven & Hell is Dio-era Black Sabbath reincarnated as a new band. Let's not go crazy with the tagging even if it is the same entity in spirit.

I always thought that Iommi liked the whole Dio era so much that he re-considered renaming of the band, like back in the days when Dio joined, sort of turning that era into a whole different band and still being the Ozzy-sabbath at the same time. Duh...
