Ian Clarke was born in Southampton, UK. He spent his early teens in Gibraltar, and grew up listening to bands such as
The Clash and
The Damned, but he was also influenced by musical icons like
Neil Young,
Bob Marley and
The Beatles. Ian joined the Merchant Navy at sisxteen with a view to travelling the world, but the ferry he was working on in 1982 was seconded to join the Falklands fleet. The experience of war inspired him to start writing and he formed his band, "
