It's probably his most underrated album and one of his best. So much beauty in this album.

Definitely my favorite album of his. The arrangements are the most interesting he's done, it's more focused than Kiss Each Other Clean (which I also like a lot, though) in terms of sound and mood, it has Brian Blade, it's impeccably sequenced... all good things... I liked it from first listen but fell way in love with it during a summer evening drive over Colorado's high mountain Berthoud Pass. Sunset, mountains and this album!

I Agree with bernlin2000 below, The Desert Babbler is really up at there with the very best of iron and wine's tracks. Great vocals and brilliant lyrics. In my case second only to Innocent Bones in my favourite list!

Great album, The Desert Babbler might be my favorite IW song of all time (tied with Naked As We Come)

This is the album that should have followed The Shepherds Dog. Great from start to finish!

Pretty disappointing opening song(s). So happy that I continued listening to discover the gems that came after.

Here's my review: http://inyourspeakers.com/content/review/207-iron-wine-ghost-on-ghost-04172013 I liked some things about it, but I don't think he's playing to his strengths here :(

The first genuinely lovely day of the year, Ghost on Ghost sounds perfect in the early evening as we contemplate a beer garden.

Yep unfortunately, it is. I was so afraid to listen to this, because I heard a new single like a month ago and I was bored with it... now that I have heard "Ghost on Ghost", I am so sad and I just can't believe where this is going. I will be surprised if anyone "gets" into his music with this record or any of the singles. I will go back to old Sam.
