Extrapolation is the debut album by Jazz guitarist John McLaughlin. It was recorded at Advision Studios in London on January 18, 1969 and first released later that year by Giorgio Gomelsky's Marmalade Records. The album was not released in the US until 1972, following McLaughlin's success as the leader of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. John McLaughlin (b. 1942), also known as Mahavishnu John McLaughlin, is an English jazz- and jazz-fusion guitarist and composer.
