The North End is Joie De Vivre's first full length and second release on Count Your Lucky Stars Records. The album was recorded by Chris French and MArk Gustofson in Rockford, IL. There is an American version and a Japanese version of the album. the only difference being the artwork and two bonus tracks, "Tails For Tonic" and "Madja Look (we dont like your band)", which were released on the japanese version.

Founded by former members of Your City/State in 2008, Rockford, Illinois’ Joie de Vivre are nostalgic to say the least, having found themselves at the forefront of the 90’s midwest emo revival. Splitting their time and members between Rockford and Chicago, Joie De Vivre has had a few different line-ups over the last six years but has stayed consistently active (except for that one time they broke up).
