Kenneth & the Knutters is a Swedish rock band founded in 1982, but since 2007 has declared that it has "pressed the pause button". In 2012 they made a comeback with a new album, but they say they have stopped playing live. On February 6th, 2016, Kenneth & the Knutters hit the stop button for the last(?) time for an hour-long performance at Silja Symphony during SMC's HojX trip to Helsinki.

The band emerged from the former pop group Colt45 from Örebro. Kjell Jennstig has been part of both of the bands. The arrangement is vocals-guitar-guitar-bass-drums. Unique to Knutters is that, in addition to this body, the band also consists of three dancers. In total, the band thus consisted of eight men. In the mid-1990s, keyboards were added. On keyboards there have been three to four different members over the years.

The band was formed in Örebro in 1982 after Kjell Jennstig and Leif Goldkuhl from the group Colt45 got an idea for a show band with MC aesthetics. With their band Colt45, they had had some success locally, but did not think they were progressing. At a party, they wrote a song for fun called "Jag vill ha din Yamaha hos mig ikväll" (I want your Yamaha with me tonight). The song was recorded with Colt45 and they signed up under the pseudonym "Kenneth & the Knutters" for the talent competition Talent 82 in Brunnsparken in Örebro.

In order to profile themselves, they also planned to fill the stage with dancing bikers. Contact was made with some local MC clubs. When D-day arrived, only three people showed up. However, the performance was a great success; Kenneth & the Knutters won the competition.
