Lester Flatt (June 19, 1914 - May 11, 1979) was an American singer and guitarist. He was one of the pioneers of bluegrass music. Along with Earl Scruggs he founded the The Foggy Mountain Boys. The Nashville Grass was a bluegrass band founded by Lester Flatt in 1969, after the end of his partnership with Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys. Flatt hired most of the Foggy Mountain Boys for his new band.
