Although released on her Jazz Doll label and using a rhythm section arranged by jazz pianist Bruce Barth, Liza Lee's recording is as much folk music as it is jazz. Her small voice takes a little getting used to, but it becomes more effective with each listen. Her sincerity in rendering the lyrics to a wide variety of songs makes the tunes sound like they were written for her even though she only actually composed the title cut.
