Yeah, bitching about it being "Lou Reed / John Cale" instead of "Lou Reed & John Cale" is pretty pedantic.

The correct tag is Lou Reed / John Cale. [3] and I don't care. This will do fine for me.

"Lou Reed & John Cale" worked for me after a bit of trying. Great record, though understandable that the two of them didn't get along for a lot of time. Reed was a monument in Rock'n'Roll history and Cale was the genius of the art-avant-garde stuff. Two very big personalities, that'd have to get along with each other. No doubt the stuff they do together is awesome, but i think it's kinda natural that they go different ways. Reed had some very good work in there, New York is very serious, if you look through it, and Berlin is awesome, too. And, as mentioned before, Cale has his big things all the way through history too. I'm very glad it happened this way.

Phenomenal album. When the mood is right and the music hits there's nothing else out there I can think of that fills that musical void quite the way this does. These guys really came together to create a little known, but absolutely necessary album.

If Cale stuck with Reed, we would have possibly gone without, arguably, the best post-Velvets material by any member - Cale's "Paris 1919" and "Vintage Violence", amongst other great albums by Mr. Cale. And Reed has some good stuff here and there on his own, no? Not great, but good. Certainly the Velvet albums sans Cale still kick ass, albeit in a different mode. Reed started to slip when him and Sterling Morrison weren't playing together anymore, IMO.

"i wish reed and cale stuck together.. reeds solo discography could have been so much more with cale.. sigh" agreed...there's something missing in Lou Reed's solo albums and late Velvet Underground

One of the best concept albums either's set their mind too. Simple and hard save for when its insidious. Enraged. Unfair. Prejudiced. Hilarious. Cruel. Loving. Brilliant. Much like its subject, in other words.

"I love that John Cale is not similar artist!!! :) " - John Cale denies having anything to do with Lou Reed and will not admit he remembers actually having recorded an album about Andy with him. haha lol
