Marshall & The FRO create Aussie blues & roots rock music; music that feels so natural and so comfortable it's like slipping into your favorite pair of double pluggers and heading down to the pub for a coldie. Forming in 2003 and performing ever since, Marshall & The FRO is: Marshall Okell on guitar & slide guitar, Nick the Fro Ohlson on Bass and Jake the poods Mann on drums & percussion.

Marshall & The FRO's music is dynamic and diverse. Featuring Marshall's strong Delta sounding vocals and guitar style, the band and their music has an appeal that's beyond conscious control. Their songs echo traditional and contemporary blues, have strong rock rhythms, the bounce of a reggae beat & the warmth of the sweetest of sweet melodies. With oh so catchy lyrics, plenty of slide, lead, and the hottest of hot rhythm sections you find yourself wanting to hear them over and over and over again.

Live on stage Marshall is irresistible and when combined with the momentum created by the whole band, it becomes impossible for anyone to be a passive listener. From the first sound you are drawn into the Marshall & The FRO experience…heads begin to nod…feet begin to tap… butts begin to shake…and before long, yes…you find yourself singing along with the band.

After spending some months in the studio recording, Marshall & the Fro have an electrifying debut album. Due to be released 2007, the twelve-track album encapsulates the essence of Australian Roots Rock music. An eclectic mix of songs that stretches across the gamut of the roots rock genre, the album includes crowd favorite’s Swamp Thang, Speed Ticket, the melodic Sip & Taste and Somethin' Better, as well as reggae based Stuck in the Rutt.

Having reached anthem status around the Northern NSW and Sound East QLD the title track of the Album, Put Ya Thongs On, a song about embracing Australian culture - the icon of choice being the humble rubber thong - is already attracting attention.

Marshall & the FRO have been solidly booked at venues from Coolum to Coffs and headline at The Backroom in Byron Bay and SolBar at Coolum Beach. They've also appeared with Evermore, 67 Special, Ash Grunwald, JEZ, Fur Patrol, The Sparrows, The Fumes, The Camels, Intercooler, The Exploders and Bertie Blackman to name but a few.

So keep a look out Marshall & The Fro will be taking their album on the road in 2007.
