One of the songs in Ghetto D, "Make 'Em Say Uhh!", is ranked at #36 on Blender's list of the "50 Worst Songs Ever", and at #60 on the list of the 100 Worst Songs Ever by Matthew Wilkening of AOL Radio. In 2008, it ranked #94 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop. "Here We Go", featuring Mystikal and Fiend, was a b-side, released on the "I Miss My Homies" single. The album was certified 3x Platinum on August 4, 2006.

Master P lived in New Orleans' infamous Calliope Projects as a child. He has two brothers, Vyshonn (rapper Silkk the Shocker) and Corey (rapper C Murder). His parents divorced, and he split his time between his father's family in New Orleans, and his mother in Richmond, California.
