"Memo from Turner" is a song written by British musicians Mick Jagger and Keith Richards that was released in October 1970 as a solo single by Jagger, featuring slide guitar by Ry Cooder, from the soundtrack of the 1970 movie "Performance", in which Jagger played the leading role of Turner, a reclusive rock star. The recording was ranked #92 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs. Two other versions of "Memo from Turner" have been released, and another, "Alternative Take", version is available on bootleg recordings.
