"The Gap" is the closing song on Mostly Autumn's second album The Spirit of Autumn Past. Written by Iain Jennings, the song is dedicated to the life of Iain's mother, Susan Jennings. The studio version features guest appearances from Troy Donockley on Uilleann pipes, and The Christchurch Singers on the choral closing section.
