For Yasgur's Farm is a song written by the heavy rock band Mountain. When they performed it at the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival in 1969, it was untitled. After the show they decided to name it "For Yasgur's Farm". This was in honour of Max Yasgur, who owned the farm on which the Woodstock festival was held. Leslie West's solo in the Woodstock recording has been placed in the top live guitar solos of all time. The song appears on the albums Climbing! (1970) and The Best of Mountain (1973).
