“Fake Your Death” was supposed to be the last song that My Chemical Romance released and is found on the album, May Death Never Stop You. The song may be interpreted as somewhat of an explanation for the breakup of the band. One may also view it as a question being posed to the fans: why should they stay when they have no desire to? They seem to acknowledge that fans may be upset, but reassure us that it’s all for the best. The song's title took on a new meaning upon the band's reunion announcement on Halloween in 2019.
