The third track off Osmium, Parliament's debut album, "Little Ole Country Boy" was one of two tracks written by early Parliament-Funkadelic collaborator and British Folk/Rock/Funk singer Ruth Copeland. These tracks are unusual in Parliament-Funkadelic's catalogue, and show the influence of Copeland's interest in country and British folk music. The yodeling that arguably uniquely identifies one of De La Soul's early hits, Potholes in My Lawn (which eventually appeared on De La Soul's 3 Feet High and Rising), is sampled from "Little Old Country Boy."
