This is Mary Travers at her very best, her extraordinary voice lighting up the night like the few songs the blonde one in Abba sings or anything by Julie Covington. It's a simple song, but with extraordinary power.

This is probably the earliest song I can remember hearing (born 1967), and even now it transports me back to my early childhood.

I used to sing this song at the top of my lungs when I was younger lol, and it's still one of my favorites, even if it is a bit of a sad song.

Just think, only 60 years ago, less than many people's lifetime, no one left on a jet plane. UNless they were a military pilot. One wonders what, if anything, people will leave on in 60 years hence. Maybe an autogiro, or perhaps a 'jaunt', or perhaps every one will be dead. One never knows.
