Music from an opera based on events from the life of Eadweard Muybridge, a pioneer in the art of photography. The cover art work features Horse in Motion, a series of photos to settle the question of whether all four hooves of a horse are ever simultaneously off the ground during a full gallop. The photos clearly show that they are. The opera focuses on a tragic love triangle in which Muybridge is put on trial for the murder of a man with whom his wife had an affair. Muybridge is acquitted and his wife passes away a few years later.
