Turn It Up is a song recorded on 20 January 1982 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California (the day after Wild And Loose, and eight days before resuming the Controversy Tour). The song was planned for inclusion on 1999, but was removed when Prince recorded Delirious, which Prince viewed as a similar track. Mixes were made where the song fades out and another portion starts back up as a reprise, but the song was originally created as a single track. The song was released in 2019 as the ninth track on the Vault Tracks part 1 disc of a Deluxe edition of the 1999 album.
