It was the first number-one song in Mexico for Selena. The song was later remixed by Kumbia Kings as a duet with Selena in 2005, for their album Duetos, and reached number two on the Hot Latin Tracks chart.

She was born in Lake Jackson, Texas and grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she began her musical career.
