"Der Fuehrer's Face" is a World War II patriotic song that was part of a Disney production starring Donald Duck commissioned by the US Treasury Department to encourage people to pay their income taxes to help support the war effort. The name of the short was "The New Spirit." It was successful enough that the film was to be re-released "this fall", meaning the fall of 1942. The song lyrics target Germany in general, with specific mention of Goebbels and Goehring as well. The restored film short is available to view on Spike TV's web site.
