Θανάσης Παπακωνσταντίνου (Thanasis Papakonstantinou) born in Tyrnavos, Greece on 26th April 1959, is a greek singer and composer. He studied Mechanical Engineering in Thessaloniki, which he practised for a while before devoting himself exclusively to music. After military service, he had a spell of handcrafting traditional Greek musical instruments. Now living in Larissa, he writes music in the greek folk style, stemming from his own recollections of traditional songs his parents sang while working in the field, often combining them with modern and rock elements.
