Alice by the Moon is the second full-length studio release from The Checks and the first released on their own label. The album was recorded by the band in February and March 2009 at The Lab Studios in Auckland. The first single You and Me was released to radio airplay late in March, and a video followed in May. The Checks are a five-piece rock band from Auckland, New Zealand. Their first performance was in 2003 for a friend's birthday party. They achieved some success in high school rock competitions, and earned a reputation as a live band.
