It was surprise hit in the US, hitting #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band's biggest hit in years and their first Top 10 in the country since "Lola" hit #9 in 1970. In the United Kingdom, it hit #12, the band's first Top 40 placement there since 1972's "Supersonic Rocket Ship". It was also the band's last charting hit single in both countries.
