The group was formed at Andrew Jackson High School, located in Queens, New York, in 1963. It consisted of two sets of sisters: Mary Weiss and Elizabeth "Liz/Betty" Weiss alongside identical twins Marguerite "Marge" and Mary Ann Ganser.
