This Day & Age wasn't an insta-love like The Reign of Kindo. I've had bands grow on me before, but they took longer than usual, I assume since I came at them from the perspective of someone who's favorite band is The Reign of Kindo and who was expecting more of the same. Like others, I'm sort of glad TD&A disbanded, since it brought about the formation of TRoK; that being said, I'll listen to anything and everything these guys are involved in. Literally. If any member of TD&A or TRoK, past or present, studio or touring, was in any way involved, it's in my music library, up to and including the Kate Mills song Joey produced and the Gin Wigmore album that she was doing a tour to support when Joey and Steve joined her on tour. Yeah, I'm a wee bit obsessed.

Hey everyone, if you haven't heard, This Day & Age's lead singer Jeff Martin started a new band called "Pompton Lakes" and they are releasing a new album on October 30, 2012. Here is a link to their music video: http://cl.ly/KL4B

@Hannah - For me it's the complete opposite. I used to make fun of how awful they were with songs like Slideshow and then when The Bell and The Hammer came out I completely did a 180 and was shocked at how much they'd improved.

Lead singer is recording new music (no offense to TRoK, but his voice is what made the band the most for me, though the music was a CLOSE second) and possibly doing something with TDaA former drummer? I can dream...

i can kind of see what you're saying maxrahr, but always straight ahead and walking contradictions are some of my favorite songs. If they were any different, I doubt I'd like the songs as much. Both songs are not too happy in my opinion, I feel like it keeps a bittersweet feel throughout both songs. In fact I feel the 'happier sounds' only makes the songs more sad. And i like it. =]

Buffalo's best generally seem to disintegrate don't they. This band had so much potential... great live shows. Anyway, has anyone heard The Reign of Kindo, and are they any good?
