Tigran Mansuryan was born in January 27, 1939 in Beirut. In 1956, Mansuryan studied at the Yerevan Music Academy and completed his PhD at the Komitas State Conservatory. The Lebanese-born Armenian composer of mostly orchestral, chamber, choral, and vocal works that have been performed throughout the world. He taught modern music theory at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory from 1967-86. Mansuryan was the director of the Komitas Conservatory in the 1990s.
