“Darkside” is the intense opening track to iann dior’s late-2019 album Industry Plant. On the track, dior reminisces on a broken relationship and the psychopathic traits of his ex partner. Over a catchy guitar riff, dior concludes both that his ex partner saw him as “nothing but a target,” and that she’d “love him more when he’s dead.” The track was teased on multiple occasions by dior himself and Taz Taylor. The music video for the track is a parody of the “Still Waiting” music video by Sum 41, which is itself a parody of the music video for the song “Last Nite” by The Strokes.
