Description

SIS RETURN TO AUSTRALIA FOR TOUR

With a musical trajectory that spans nearly a decade, ISIS has emerged from the frozen recesses of New England to become an internationally renowned force in underground music. Critically revered as the vanguard of "art metal," the band has consistently exploded the idiomatic structures that have traditionally defined heavy music, with each new release expanding and improving upon the innovations of its predecessor.

In addition to many high-profile live demonstrations at numerous international music festivals such as All Tomorrow's Parties (2004, curated by Mogwai) and Japan's Fuji Fest (2006), ISIS recently performed at the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Earlier this year, they were commissioned to play their 2002 album, Oceanic, in its entirety as part of All Tomorrow's Parties' "Don't Look Back" series, in which such indie heavyweights as the Melvins, Low and Tortoise also participated.

The new album, , In The Absence Of Truth is a living, breathing panorama of soaring melodies, dizzying rhythmic ziggurats and seismic heaviness - available through Shock Records in Australia now.

It is with the release of this new album that brings Isis back to Australian soil for a 5-date national tour and joining them are These Arms Are Snakes (US) and Laura, on all dates (except Perth).

Seattle's THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES has been confounding audiences with their unique brand of melodic yet blistering hardcore since 2003. Following two EPs, a 2004 debut full length and constant touring alongside well known acts such as Minus The Bear, Pelican, The Blood Brothers and Isis, These Arms Are Snakes blur the lines between screamo, mathcore and noise-inspired prog rock.

Isis are also joined by Melbourne's LAURA, who's second album Radio Swan Is Down has just been released. Characterised by its simultaneous manipulation of momentum and its embracing of the rhythms of impulse, the record was developed over the last year from over 200 minutes of raw audio... and the live experience is nothing short of breath-taking.
