After selling out every year since the launch in 2000, Global Gathering has become the world’s undisputed heavyweight champion of dance festivals. In 2006, a record breaking 75,000 revellers congregated at the renowned Long Marston Airfield over 2 days, creating the biggest dance and live music weekender on the planet, ever.
Once again BBC Radio 1 will support the event with shows broadcast live to the nation from the Radio 1 main stage and from the site across the weekend.
Global Gathering 2007 promises a super-sized combo of the finest DJ talent on earth, great live acts, state-of-the-art sound systems and amusement attractions that will allow guests to intoxicate themselves on immoral amounts of fun and aural adventure.
Every year, the organisers look to exceed all expectations. This summer, Global Gathering will offer luxury camping on a campsite area large enough to fit forty football pitches. It will also feature hot showers and an outdoor cinema. For those music fans who are less familiar with the nylon structures, a ticket option is available that offers a ready erected tent and a concierge butler service; you can even order crates of cold beer to be delivered to your tent on arrival!
The musical output will cover the spectrum of dance from US House to euphoric trance and pumping drum and bass. New for ‘07 are three Ibiza-inspired terraces. Hosted by some of the most popular names in dance including Circo Loco, Sundissential and Mixmag, these outdoor sound systems will create a mini festival within a festival. Roger Sanchez’s, Release Yourself arena also makes a debut. Radio 1 return again along with all the most popular arenas, such as Global, Godskitchen, Electric and Radio 1’s Essential Selection.
