According to Muma's official web site (http://www.themuma.cn/): The group currently has four members: 木玛 (Mu Ma), Lead Vocals, guitar 曹操 (Cao Cao), Bass 李元 (Li Yuan), Drums 冯雷 (Feng Lei), Keyboard Muma, whose name translates to "wooden horse", was formed in Beijing in July 1998. The original three members were Mu Ma on guitar, Cao Cao on bass and Hu Hu (胡湖) on drums. Their first performance on stage was at the Scream Bar (嚎叫酒吧/Haojiao Jiuba) in Beijing in October 1998.
